Player share of SiB

The new Tableau just launched and they've added treemaps, a form a visualisation I've been meaning to add to the site for some time. Now that Tableau carry this format, my existing data is already ready to go, so below is the first of likely many treemaps, here showing players' share of shots inside the box, split between games at home and away. Player share is given on a percentage basis based on the minutes they have played so you don't need to adjust for playing time. However, standard caveats on small samples should be noted, hence I've excluded all players with less than 900 total minutes played:

Great visualisations but I can't help wonder how useful it is to omit all the January signings - Liverpool's stats must surely be rather different with Sturridge and Coutinho on board. Ditto Newcastle. Will

Pretty looking as always, but I'm not sure what this new treemap format adds which you couldn't already show in say, a pie chart.

Also, since you're only showing one team at a time, it's a bit of a waste to use the colour scheme merely to indicate a player's team.

You could, for example, use a red-green colour gradient to show the percentage of SiBs converted into goals for each player.

It was just something I was playing with, wasn't supposed to be revolutionary.

Hi

I'm looking for a quality website such as premierleaguefantasy.blogspot.com to place some advertising on your site. You will be pay to display advertising.

Let me know if this is of interest and we can hopefully come to some agreement.
